Izzy's sore throat

I left Izzy alone yesterday for a few hours (which isn't a long time in people hours but seemingly is forever in dog time). So I knew that when I came home there might be items taken out of the trash and some heavy sniffing done on Riley's clothes. This might sound weird to outsiders of the Solomon household but has become expected, but not appreciated, in our household. Anything that is left at Izzy's level is fair game, at least in her opinion! Back to the story, I walked in and saw some tissues on the ground. I assumed that was all the damage done and thought I got off lucky! Last night as we were entertaining Riley to keep her up to her 8:30 bedtime (which is challenging enough in and of itself), I saw Izzy try to suck/chew on something. I immediately told her to "drop it" which she did (she is a great dog!) and it was only then I saw that it was a cough drop!!! Seriously!!! Ben thinks she must be coming down with a cold that I had a few weeks ago and needs some extra throat soothing to make it through the day.

Just another day in the life of the Solomons... Even though I joke about Izzy and her odd tendencies, I love that dog with all my heart! She has really calmed down and is a great big sister to Riley. We couldn't ask for more (except for maybe a dog that doesn't come down with a sore throat)!!
