Her 1st Fever!

Let me set the stage (I know everyone reading this is in anticipation). The other night, I was relieved of Riley duty and got to go have community group girl time. Ben was on Riley put-to-sleep duty. This is typically fairly routine and she goes to sleep with very minimal crying. So after giving her a bottle and some kisses, Ben set Riley down in her crib. Well she immediately started screaming (which is highly unusual). Ben, being the patient parent that he is, picked her up and soothed/rocked her! He put her down again and the screaming ensued. At this point, I am having a great time with the girls and still unaware of the drama at home. After the fourth time of this, he calls me and I am on my way home ASAP. After an immediate hand-off as soon as I walked in the door (no time for hand washing), I soon realize that Riley feels hot and she does indeed have a fever. After a quick call to Whitney for some advice (what do moms do without sisters?), I gave Riley her first dose of Tylenol. Thanks goodness that Whitney made me buy some infant Tylenol when Riley was born instead of waiting for the first time she needed to use it! I highly recommend this for first-time moms! After rocking her for 45 mins she fell asleep. Well, we both (me and Riley) managed to sleep about 4 hours that night! When Ben woke up to go to work, I was on the nursery floor with Riley next to me. We had been that way since 4 in the morning when she started waking up! I think she also is almost through with her first cold. Oh how I wish I could teach her to blow her nose because she currently just has snot that is semi-permanently stuck in her nostrils. If you managed to read to the end of this post, I will treat you with cute pictures of my sweet baby girl!

A laugh with Dad!

That precious smile with those gorgeous blue eyes! Yes, her eyes do keep getting bigger each day and I love it!

Just hanging around with Daddy!

Oh bumbo, we really like you but only for a few minutes. Please notice her terrible posture (she must take after me on this one) and also the puddle at the bottom of the bumbo.
Sitting on a big person chair and sneaking a smile a the camera!
Can you just tell how jealous Izzy is of all the attention that Riley gets? Riley is having some one-on-one time with her crazy uncle (my brother Dala)!
