Yes, I do know that daylight savings was almost a month ago but better late than never!
As normal, Ben and I were very much looking forward to "falling back" and the extra hour of sleep. Riley and Izzy were thinking otherwise...I never anticipated that daylight savings would pose a problem to my precious baby girl but it has! She has started waking up around 4am when she would normally sleep until 6 to 7am. Now I really don't know what Izzy's problem is because she has been around the block a few times for daylight savings time. But nevertheless, she has instituted an 8pm bedtime! She quietly leaves the living room around 8pm and we know that she is settling in for the night. It is so funny!
Now on a daylight savings story for my childhood. Let me set the stage...daylight savings time had just occurred and I, at the ripe old age of 10, was having a hard time falling asleep with it being light outside. So I got up and walked to my dad's home office to complain about it (that was my first mistake). The second mistake was not mine but my dad's - he mistakenly thought that if he TAPED MY EYES SHUT it would help me fall asleep. Before I knew what was happening, I had duct tape across my eyes. I was then sent off to go to bed and actually tried to walk back to my bedroom when my mom saw me. I don't remember her exact reaction but it went something like "Stu, what on earth did you do to Lauren"? My dad's response was that he was merely trying to help me get to sleep. Well, at least it only took a year for those eyelashes to grow back...
