I know I already posted some chubby Riley pictures for her 5 month post but people she just keeps getting rounder! Today I set her on a chair and she threw her legs up to show off some chubs on her thighs. Too good not to share... I would say she is a good 14lbs by now!! That is big time in our little underweight world...
She was having a case of the giggles! My goodnes I love this little girl!
She looks like a baby doll in this picture with her lips pursed together!
In other news, Riley is just crawling away and she apparently doesn't know that she is SUPPOSED to stay ON the quilt. I came into the living room, after stepping away to take care of some business, and she was chewing on Izzy's ball. You heard me right! CHEWING on that gross ball upon which all of izzy's germs are carried on. Can you even clean that thing? Wait, I mean, I clean that thing every week! WHAT?? I'm not ready to be having to keep floors clean and such. But I wouldn't trade it for the world! Oh yes, she has also decided that she does not need to chew on her teething toys, she would rather chew on table legs and baseboards. Once again, can you even clean those things?? :)
Two quick stories about my housekeeping abilities:
1. A few years back, Ben and I were furiously packing to take a 3 week trip to Europe. I didn't feel very good and it was all I could do to pack my bags. There was no extra energy to clean the house and make it look nice for when we return and I was OK with that. My parents came over to drive us to the airport. My precious Mom steps into my house and says "well if a burglar does break into your house, he will think it has already been burglarized.!" I just can't make these things up. I gave my mom a look that said "MOM, if I wasn't so miserable I would be super annoyed with you"! She must have felt pretty bad about that because she and my Dad came over and cleaned our entire house from top to bottom. You heard me right, from top to bottom. You also heard me right that Dad cleaned the house also! I mean, he doesn't even do that at their house!!! Mom, you can say those things anytime you want, really! :) Our house does need a good cleaning right about now!
2. I was seriously considered repainting the baseboards in our bathroom because they looked off-white. It was only then that I realized that if I ran a rag across the baseboard, they changed color from off-white to white!! Oops! I guess you are supposed to clean those things!
If you can't make fun of yourself, then who will?? Oh yes, my twin sister who refuses to remember her own embarassing moments and insists on telling everyone my most embarassing moments. I feel another blog post coming on...
And since you made it to the end of this post, I will treat you with some more cute pictures!
Oh Mom, I'm just being a little shy for the camera!
Please notice the extreme amount of cleavage going on here! Those precious blue eyes looking up at me. Oh yes, this is the infamous quilt that she refuses to stay on! Oh goodness, she is already in her rebellious years! :)

There is very good research showing that babies who are exposed to normal household germs actually have markedly better resistance to the usual virues and germs in the 'outside' world!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! She is precious! When can I baby sit!?! Seriously! I need a little baby action in my life! Bring her over and I'd love to give you guys a date night...or day, or whatever! :)
