Caden is 4 months old!

I have just loved looking back each month at how much our little Caden has grown! Oh my, how times flies, he just turned 4 months! It seems like just yesterday my water broke and we drove to the hospital!

Here are his 4 month stats:
weight: 15 lbs 11 oz (75th percentile)
height: 25.5 inches (70th percentile)
head: 15th percentile

At 4 months with Riley was when I discovered my milk was super low calorie and Riley was below the 5th percentile (and screaming all the time out of hunger)! I will never forget the tears I shed at that appointment. So I have been a little anxious about milk around the 4 month mark with Caden. Thankfully he is nice and chunky (understatement) and I am still on track to keep nursing for a while longer! Although eating enough and nursing times are a little stressful (see also the 2 year old that likes to do all sorts of loud things while I am nursing), I am so thankful that I am able to keep going! For the last feeding of the day, I have started supplementing with formula for a few ounces.

He is regularly sleeping through the night now! I am still working on getting him to go to sleep earlier in the evening but then he sleeps through until morning. Normally 8ish to 8ish! I am so thankful. I have also stopped swaddling his arms because he is a thumb sucker. I was having to pop the paci in a little too much for comfort so we did a paci detox and now he soothes himself with his thumb!

I thought the 45 minute intruder was knocking on our door but I have decided that some naps he only wants to sleep a short amount of time and then the next nap could be 3 hours! Hard to make plans though...

I have also discovered that Caden is no longer a laid back babe! Up until this point, he could nap in the car seat and just hang out wherever he was. That has gone by the wayside. Now he refuses to nap in the carseat and waits for me to make it home to nap. As soon as I lay him in the crib and swaddle him, he immediately calms down, finds his thumb, and goes to sleep! Occasionally he cries for a few minutes but I don't let myself go back in unless he cries for a while.

Riley is doing great with him! She loves to play with him and has learned for the most part to be gentle with him. I can now put him on the floor and she plays with him so I can get dinner cooking and on the table. What a blessing this sweet girl is.

We have also begun to put him in the Bumbo and Johnny jump up. He enjoys them but seems to spit up more when he is upright. Oh yes, I have also weaned him off of Mylanta for his mild reflux.

He loves to smile, coo, and giggle! He still has massive cheeks that get kissed all the time! Can you tell that we are over the moon about this little guy?!

His hair is so funny! If you look closely you can see how curly it is. I typically comb it after a bath but I let it go and it was all over the place. You should see his bedhead!
A quick look at his massive double chin!
He loves his sister! Riley is the best one at making him do a belly laugh. I love watching them interact. Riley will come running up to him, pat his check, and say "hi little booger"!
Johnny jump up time! Whenever I looked away, Riley would do a huge push like he was in a swing. Yikes!!
 Just having fun!
