Riley has done incredible in the potty department. We potty trained her at 24 months (right before Cade was born). Lately she has just needed a little help wiping but I bought some flushable wipes and she is now totally independent which is awesome also! The other morning, I woke to Riley crying. I walked in and found out exactly what happened... Riley woke up and needed to go poop, so she took off her night time diaper, pooped in the potty, wiped, washed hands, and then needed a little extra help putting on her panties. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??! She continually amazes us!
She also seems to be picking up some bad habits...The other day Riley wanted to wear her favorite pink shirt. She looked and couldn't find it in her drawer, so she goes to the dirty clothes, picks it up, takes a big whiff and says "Daddy it's fine. It doesn't smell bad!" Oh brother!! :)
We were on a walk a while ago and Riley was running and completely fell on the sidewalk. Ben and I give each other a worried look and expect the waterworks to begin. Instead she gets up, dusts herself off, and then looks back at me and says "mommy, be careful!"
We have also begun to be more intentional with teaching her about God and Bible verses. She LOVES her pretty dresses and I am trying to teach her about what true beauty is (you can never start too early, right?). So I ask Riley was makes her beautiful and without skipping a beat she says "my heart"!
The other day we were heading over to Lolly and Pops house and this is what Riley said. "Mommy, I'm so glad we can get out of the garage. Remember when it was broken and Pops came over and fixed it? I need to tell Pops thank you." That might be her first paragraph ever. Ben and I are continually amazed with all the words she picks up and that she picked up on learning her letters so quickly. Ben is rearing to get her to read but I try to remind him that she is only TWO AND A HALF! :)
Riley has also been coming out of her shell a lot when we are outside of our house. It is so fun to let other people see her true character. She is goofy, energetic, smiley, and altogether hilarious! So glad that other people are getting to see this side of her instead of just me!
Riley typically wears her hair down and rarely lets me put it in a ponytail but every once in a while I get to actually do her hair! Here we are with matching braids.

Riley brushing Izzy's hair with her princess brush. Why not?
The many faces of Riley...these were all taken within a few seconds of each other!
