but I'm NOT tired

"But I'm not tired" is what I heard for a straight week from Riley when it was time to nap. I tried to make her run miles in the morning to make her exhausted for her nap. I tried no TV in the morning. I tried it all and she would still say "I'm not tired" for naps. Yikes!!

So we implemented room time. It has been a success at our house. She gets to play with any toy in her room and we leave the lights on! Some days she plays for an hour and some days for minutes but most importantly...eventually she naps!! Maybe she needed the freedom to decide if she should nap or not. The funniest part about room time is that when she naps, it is ALWAYS on the FLOOR! She is so silly! When you ask her why she naps on the floor she says "because I don't like my bed"!
