6 months

We had our 6 month appointment on Monday and I was excited to see how much Riley had gained in the past month. Here are her stats:
Weight - 15 lbs 2 oz (35th percentile)
Length - 25 3/4 (50th percentile)
Head circumference - 17cm (70th percentile)

I was overjoyed to see that she was 15 lbs, I thought she would barely be 14 lbs! So now I can relax a little and not worry so much if she shows hunger signs. Whew! We are over that scare.

Here is what Riley is up to:
- Panting - we have determined that she spends entirely too much time with Izzy and feels the need to pant just like Izzy does.
- Crawling - she has started rocking back and forth some but is still doing the belly crawl. Just today she crawled about 10 feet toward me while I was doing the dishes. That is her longest expedition yet before she gets sidetracked and goes toward something else.
- Still spitting - this girl is still a spitter. I am not looking forward to colored spit-up as we are introducing solids...
- Sitting up - she is getting better at this but still needs spotting. You know that Solomon head, if she looks up at you she immediately falls back! Let's hope she grows into that head. On another note, the other night I woke up and while still mostly asleep I told Ben to, "get his big head off my side!" Like father like daughter!
- Solids - We have just started on veggies and I'll have another post about that.
- Naps - Riley is going through a phase where she is not the best napper. She currently takes 3 naps a day that range from about 30 to 45 mins each. She is sleeping 12 hours at night though and I would much rather a good night sleeper than a good napper.
- Izzy - She has become increasingly interested in Izzy and insists on petting her every possible time. Izzy is such a good sport about it and walks away when she gets fed up with it!

Riley has a sweet disposition and loves giggling and smiling. Even with her massive amounts of spit-up, I am continually thankful that it does not bother her! She will be in the middle of a gorgeous smile and spit-up is pouring out of her mouth. I am praticing deep breathing techniques to not get stressed out about it! Let;s just say I am thankful for wood floors!

The Solomon girls sharing some bonding moments.

In mid-pant trying to be like Izzy!
Riley having a good 'ole time at her 6 month appointment. Clearly this was before the shots... Please notice belly hanging over her diaper!

Trying to get more pictures of her chubby chunk of a self. Can you tell I am proud of every ounce in her 15 pounds? Her thigh wrinkles just keep getting deeper and deeper...Love it!

Riley is a hand-sucker and is able to fit her entire fist in her mouth. Only half of the time does she gag from it!

Riley at 4 months - 10 pounds. She looks so incredibly skinny here!

On the left is Riley at 5 months and left at 6 months. In the past 2 months, she has gained 5 pounds!!!

We have much to be thankful for!
