Caden is 2 months old!

This month was a little less of a blur as I am starting to get a little bit more sleep. His longest stretch to date is 6 hours! I felt like a new woman and then the next night he barely slept 4. Yikes!

The biggest news is that at 5 weeks he started to get super fussy after each feeding (i..e screaming for about 20 minutes and not able to be soothed). I took him to the doc and she diagnosed him with reflux. So we started him on antacid medicine and then added a prescription reflux medicine. Both of those helped out incredibly! He is now a much more laid back babe. He goes with the flow and takes naps in his car seat or crib or swing or anywhere really! He is getting to be much more alert and wake time isn't quite as challenging.

Riley is so sweet with him (after I remind her to be gentle). She loves to sing songs to him and really can't wait for him to play with her! She has tried repeatedly to put Minnie Mouse into his hand and can't seem to understand why he won't grab hold of it!

We are still waiting for him to smile when he is awake but we have caught him smiling and even giggling in his sleep. He is also now content to be awake (last month if he was awake he was crying). Whitney also gave us her infant swing to help out during his fussy periods in the evening. It is a miracle! He spend evenings in there so I can get some things done.

Hopefully this next month will bring us sleeping through the night and a smile!

His 2 month stats:
weight: 12 lbs 2 oz (75th percentile)
height: 23 1/2 inches (75th percentile)
head: 20th percentile

I have been trying so hard to eat everything in sight to have healthy breast milk! It has been working but it is hard to eat all the time! His weight gain is great so I am trying to relax about that. Ben and I were shocked that his head is only in the 20th percentile. It seems so huge to us but maybe it is because he has the CHUBBIEST cheeks ever!

  1. His hair is so DARK!! In these photos he does not look too much like Riley [to me. Sounds as if you are doing just about everything right about your diet, and I thought you might be worrying about that milk-quality thing. Am grateful all is going well.
