Life with the Solomons: 3 weeks old!

Today Riley is officially 3 weeks old. Time has flown by and also gone by super slow. It is a surreal feeling getting to wake her up each morning, nursing her, and getting tons of cuddle time! We have so much to be thankful for.

She is staying awake much more during the day and has these gorgeous blue eyes. I had been drinking coffee in the morning and she was getting super wide-eyed so I decided to stop drinking it (mostly at Ben's urging after he spent an entire day with her this past weekend)!

At her 2 week pediatrician appointment, she weighted 6 lbs 7 oz and the doc told me I could start letting her sleep through the night until she wakes up. I was so excited... I normally had been setting my alarm for 3:30 and the first night she slept a whopping 6 minutes more! :) The past three nights Riles slept 5 to 6 hour stretches.

On another note, Ben has mysteriously become a very heavy sleeper. Before Riley, if I moved loudly he would wake up and "be up for the night" but after Riley, he doesn't even hear her cry or me getting up to feed her! I know he didn't plan this, but it is quite convenient. :) On a serious note, Ben is great with Riley and I try to give him all the cuddle time he can stand!

Here is Ben giving Riley some skin-to-skin time. Side note: the first time he did this, she actually tried to latch on to him! He caught her before it was too painful but it was good for a laugh!

Here are the girls of the family. We are getting lots of hang out time. Every morning the three of us (me, izzy, and riley) take a walk together. It is good bonding time and great exercise time for me!

Like father like daughter...Need I say more?

I wish this picture was in focus. Riley has developed a little side smile that looks just like Ben's side smile. I absolutely love looking at her when she is smiling in her sleep. That is just a gift from God! I can't wait for her to smile when she is awake.
