Memorial Day

Ben is forcing me to blog about this one...but honestly, if you can't laugh at your mistakes then who will??

So we get an evite from Marisa and Mike (our friends who we haven't hung out with in a long time) for a Memorial Day Bash! We were super excited and planned the weekend chores around it. From Ben's perspective, it is important to note that only I received the evite (as they did not have his current email). We show up to their house on Memorial day about 10 mins after the party was set to start and were the only car there -- first clue. Then the front door was locked -- second clue. We walk around and hear them in the back and open their fence and Mike's response was "hey Ben, great to see you! The party was yesterday"! We (but mostly me) were VERY embarassed. Insert the part where Ben denies he ever saw the evite because it wasn't sent to his email. We got over our embarassment (after 15 minutes) and stayed for 2 hours for a private pool party. It was great to catch up with them and spend some time in the pool!

Just for the record, the last time this happened was right after we got married. We showed up at two different events at either the wrong time or the complete wrong day within the span of one week. I'd say that this occuring once every five years is a great track record!
