the ZOO

We had never ventured out to the Dallas zoo, but decided it was time that Riley see that all these animals we read about in books are real!

We set out on a cool day in April and were the second car in the parking lot (we got there about 2 minutes after it opened). Had to put that in the post to make my dad proud about our awesome parking spot!

This is how we started off the day. We walked by this baboon exhibit and would you believe the baboon's bottom is PINK and PURPLE? That just happens to be Riley's all-time favorite colors. She was in shock and awe! The sign said the male baboon's have pink and purple bottoms because the female baboons like it. Haha!
A family pic!

This is what Cade did the entire time. He was such a trooper!

The last exhibit we did was a little petting zoo with barnyard animals. Here she is trying to get up the courage to pet a goat. That afternoon we asked her what animals we saw at the zoo and she said cows (pretty much the ONLY animal that we didn't actually see)! Awesome, glad we just spent a whole day at the zoo and that is all she remembered! The next day and for months afterward, she still talks about all the giraffes, zebras, elephants, etc. that we saw!
