Two months ago, we checked out the Cinderella book from the library. This opened Riley's eyes to the wonderful world of princesses! On her 2nd birthday, Lolly and Pops got her a Cinderella dress. For about a month, we read Cinderella multiple times a day. Fast forward to Halloween, it really wasn't a surprise that Riley wanted to dress up as Cinderella. She has the complete outfit...a bead necklace, black slippers, and the occassional crown. Whitney got me a Disney book of songs. Riley was UNABLE to just dance along to Cinderella songs without the complete Cinderella outfit on. In fact, she spends about 4 hours every day in her Cinderella dress. I found myself making arbitrary rules about when she could wear the dress and then a mom that I really look up to told me in the politest way possible to just let go! So she wears that dress all over...on walks, in the backyard playing, for meals. As a result, the dress has stains all over it and she loves it so! In fact, it helps me out because it really cuts down on the amount of laundry that girl has!
Tonight as I was tucking her in, Riley read me the Cindererlla book. She looks at the pictures and says a sentence or two about each page. It is so sweet. As I was reading her the entire book (which is not an abbreviated version), I was reflecting on how sweet these times are with her. Even though I am so tired from nursing Cade around the clock and the house is dirty and I just want to rest, what I really want to remember are the times that I stopped with the to-do list and just cuddled with her and read the entire book of Cinderella over and over again.
We went to a carnival in my parent's neighborhood on Halloween. Here is Cinder-Riley!
The Barab/Solomon clan!
Ready for some fun games and candy!
Our first Halloween as a family of four! Cade was a pumpkin and slept the entire time. I actually had someone ask if me if he was a fake baby since his arms were hanging limp because he was so relaxed!
Cinder-Riley was quite worn out at the end of the night.
Weary?
