Beginnings and Ends

Ends:
This past Tuesday (5/15) marked Riley's last day of school. I love her school and we are going back two days a week in the fall. The teachers made us a little book with pictures throughout the school year. She loves looking at it. I most love the picture of Riley napping on her nap mat. Sweet girl!

Beginnings (from ends):
This past Tuesday also marked the first time that Riley successfully went #1 in the potty!!! Since her 1 yr appointment we have had a little potty for her to sit on and we discuss it with her quite a bit. Tuesday evening she started pulling at her shorts. I told her that it wasn't bath time yet and left it at that. She left the room and headed to the bathroom. Ben followed her and saw she was interested in the potty. He took her diaper off and viola! She peed in there! Ben's mouth was open in shock. He called me in and told me we need to give Riley a treat for that. I said that made her sound like a dog! We compromised and decided to call it candy (not a treat) and gave her a candy corn. Since that fateful day, we have been trying to bring up the potty more. Her tendency now is to sit there for a little bit and then stand up... and then she pees. Oh well, we are getting close!
