What we've been up to lately

Hello blogging world and my 11 followers!

Just a cute picture for the day and a short snippet of what the Solomons have been doing.

August was a very busy month for me:

- One of the joys of being a CPA is that every year on the month of your birthday, you are required to submit all of your CPE hours for the year (40/year). So being the planner I am (insert sarcasm here), I was completely on top of it and split the 40 hours into bite size chunks each month. NOT!!! I forgot about it until the Texas Board notified me which was late July. Yikes! I got it all done but it was a little stressful. Side note: 1 hour in CPE time does not quite equal 1 hour in real life (just before you start feeling too sorry for me).

- Little Riley girl turned one and although we threw her a low-key party, it was still a lot of planning and baking and cooking for this mama!

- Just the normal part-time workload (about 15 hours per week).

September was busy for Riley and me!

- Riley started school. We, I mean, she goes once a week from 9am to 2:30pm. She has done really great and even caught some shut eye at school on her super cute nap mat. Me, again being the planner that I am, was running around the day before school started buying her school supplies (i.e. lunch box, backpack that is entirely too big for her, and finishing her nap mat). When I dropped her off, I was exhausted!

- I gave two weeks notice at my part-time job. I had another part-time job present itself that was too good to pass up. If you know me, then you know that quitting stresses me out! I was so busy crazy trying to document everything I did so that my replacement could learn it quickly (feel free to begin thinking of me as a nerd).

October (the verdict is still out on how this month will turn out):

- And here we are in October! I started a new part-time job in October and traveled for work for the first time in who-knows-how-long! Ben was Mr. Mom and I was so proud of him. He dropped off Riley at my parent's house for the day and then picked her up to take care of her for the afternoon and evening. He might have been a little nervous at first but he did an incredible job! No major falls and lots of giggles and quality time together. Most importantly, bonding occured!! Oh yes, thanks so much to my mom and dad for watching Riley. My dad called and said "you know, Riley is really a great little person and so fun to be around." This is HUGE for my dad who may have also had his first diaper changing experience since Whitney and I were done with diapers!!

- Riley and I are also attending BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) this year. We are studying Acts and Riley is too. In the nursery, they sing songs and have a little lesson. So cute!

We are having lots of fun together and Ben and I continually give each other eyes of amazement when Riley listens to what we say and then does it (when she feels like it)!
