Gender Reveal Party

We had our 20 week sonogram a few weeks ago and I convinced Ben to not find out the gender until a few weeks later. We had the sono tech put the gender in a sealed envelope. I was so thankful that the baby looked healthy!! We had a sweet friend make a cake for us with either blue or pink inside.

A family pic right before the big reveal!
People who thought we were having a BOY!
People that thought we were having a girl! Only my dad and Ben!
The exact moment we found out we were having a BOY!

Ben looks a little giddy, don't you think? He claims that he stood on the girl side so that if we were having a girl he would be super excited about it, but he was really hoping for a boy! People asked me what I wanted to have, I honestly didn't have an opinion. Both would be a blessing! Sounds corny but that's exactly how I felt.
After the excitement of finding out the gender, we had a pool party!

Riley's biggest problem with swimming so far is that she has too much fun and wants to keep her mouth open at all times!! She thankfully doesn't swallow that much water but I can't seem to convince her to keep it closed either! Her biggest joy right now is to either jump off the edge of the pool or off the diving board. If you need a recommendation on a good floatie, go with Puddle Jumpers! They are great because they keep her head out of the water!

Here's to our little baby boy! Pregnancy is going great. The other day I was mentioning to someone how hard it is for me to carry Riley around. The very next day when I was lifting her into the car seat, she said "my turn" and climbed in all by herself. By the time she gets all the way in, she is so proud of herself that she plops right down and let's me buckle her in. She is well on her way to independence and on helping her ever-growing momma out!
