Crawling: She is not yet crawling up on her knees yet but she is close! I have officially started baby-proofing the house! She can now move from rooms to rooms but usually likes to be in whatever room I am in. One con of doing a belly crawl is that I can always tell how dirty my floors are because every speck of dirt ends up on her belly!! :) Izzy has been great with Riley start to crawl and pet/bother her. Izzy's favorite spot during the day is her bed in front of the bay window so she can look out on the neighborhood. She will spend hours there! So guess who has started to invade her spot???
Riley looks really funny in this picture. Notice that Izzy is standing her ground and refusing to move!
Here is Riley in true Izzy form. She pulled herself up on the windowsill and is looking out!
Notice the little bald spot on the back of her head.
Sitting:
I almost feel comfortable leaving Riley sitting up by herself but not quite. The other day she had a spill backwards and her head fell on a rattle! Yikes!! The first couple of days when she got really good at sitting up, I would just stare at her because she looked so grown-up!
Riley spends most of the day with her mouth open! Here she is showing off her tongue! Notice extremely chubby thighs!
Ben wanted to see if Riley could stand on her own. Here is her debut of standing by herself! Also notice that hand is inserted into mouth except for her little pinkie!
The neighborhood kids have been out playing all sorts of sports. I have been catching myself looking forward to the days when Riley can play with them. But then I force myself to enjoy and cherish each moment of her NOW because these days will pass so soon. We have much to be thankful for in this little ball of joy!
